The ACJ Foundation
Hope lives in the waiting.
Helping families spend less time worrying about bills and more time beside the people they love.

Waiting on a Hero
One ordinary night changed everything.
When Ally was 14 years old, she went to bed like any other teenager. In the middle of the night, she suffered a stroke and was airlifted to UCSF.
Within hours, her family learned she had a rare form of pulmonary hypertension and was in end-stage lung failure. She needed a double lung transplant to survive.
Each time, she chose courage.
First transplant
Three weeks after her diagnosis, Ally received her first double lung transplant.
Second chance
Eight months later, she needed a second transplant and chose hope again.
A third miracle
Years later, a third transplant gave Ally the chance to thrive, encourage others, and live fully.
Her heroes
Ally never called her donors strangers.
She called them heroes.
She understood that every gift of life begins with another family’s unimaginable loss—and carried both gratitude and grief with extraordinary grace.

Our first recipient
Tyler’s Story
“The foundation really stepped in at a time when we truly needed help and lifted some of that burden caused by an illness like mine.”
Seven months after his second lung transplant, Tyler reflected on rejection, rehab, exhaustion, family sacrifice, and the miracle of unexpected support.
